The AI “Invisible Infrastructure” for BTS
The AI “Invisible Infrastructure” for BTS.The three carriers are moving beyond traditional hardware by launching “Agentic AI” network systems that think and react in real-time.
1. SK Telecom: The “A-One” Debut
SKT is premiering A-One (Access All-in-One), an AI system that has already divided the Gwanghwamun area into three distinct digital “zones.”
- The Inner Zone: Optimized specifically for massive upstream traffic (photo/video uploads).
- The Outer Zone: Tailored for downstream stability to support fans live-streaming the show on their devices.
- The Fringe: Designed to handle transit traffic as fans move toward subway hubs.
2. KT: The 60-Second Recovery
KT is deploying W-SDN (Wireless Software Defined Network). This AI “brain” monitors base station loads and can automatically redistribute frequency resources within one minute of detecting an overload. To support this, they have added:
- 6 mobile base stations.
- 79 wireless expansion stations.
- 14 ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi units.
3. LG U+: Autonomous Traffic Routing
LG U+ is utilizing its Autonomous Network technology. If a specific “cell” (area) becomes congested—for instance, during a fan-led “purple light” event—the AI automatically adjusts the base station’s signal output and “handover” timing to silently shift the data load to nearby, less-congested stations.
